The Forestry Graduate Student Association invites you to this week's talk in the
Fall Forestry Seminar Series by Dr. Todd E. Dawson. He will be giving a talk
entitled "On redwoods, climate, and climate change: An ecophysiological
perspective."
Todd Dawson is a Professor in the Departments of Integrative Biology and
Environmental Science, Policy & Management at University of California,
Berkeley. Dawson runs the Center for Stable Isotope Biogeochemistry at UC
Berkeley and teaches Physiological Plant Ecology and Stable Isotope
Biogeochemistry. He has varied research interests but his main focus is
exploring the interface between plants and their environments from a functional
perspective. He applies a wide range of tools from physiological and
evolutionary plant ecology, ecosystem science, stable isotope biogeochemistry
and remote sensing and modeling. His lab has ongoing projects which
include work on herbaceous and woody plants that inhabit a wide range of
ecosystems ranging from the Mediterranean regions of California, Europe and
South Africa to the tropics of Costa Rica, Mexico and Brazil. If you'd like to learn
more about his research- visit his lab's website:

A reception for the speaker with snacks and beverages is held in the lounge
area immediately outside room 017 from 3:30-4:00 PM. No parking permit is
